Copper Mountain Resort and Winter Park Resort, both easy drives from Denver, offer a wide variety of activities appealing to all winter enthusiasts.

Copper Mountain

MARCH 2 - 3: Colorado Special Olympics Winter Games - This season marks the 20th consecutive year that Copper Mountain hosts the Colorado Special Olympics Winter Games. Over 550 athletes participate in alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, figure skating, snowshoeing and snowboarding. Copper is the official winter training site for all Colorado-based Special Olympics athletes and is the official host resort for the Winter Games through 2010. MARCH 23: Easter Sunday - Colorado's Largest Easter Egg Hunt - More than 50,000 Easter Eggs fill the Village at Copper. Eggs are stuffed with prizes that include cash, season passes and gift certificates. For more information, call 866-841-2481.

MARCH 30 - APRIL 4: USASA Nationals - Copper is the host venue for the largest snowboarding and freeski event in the world, the USASA Nationals. The top regional finishers are invited to attend the USASA National Championships to compete against the best male and female athletes in slopestyle, halfpipe, boardercross, slalom and giant slalom competitions to fulfill their quest to become national champions. APRIL 5 - 6: Sunsation: For the eighth year, Copper sizzles during Sunsation, Copper's end-of-the-season bash with free live music featuring national acts. Visit www.coppersunsation.com for the latest music line up and schedule of events.


Winter Park Resort

MARCH 7 - 9: Bob Barnes Ski & Ride School Three Day Mogul Camp - Bob Barnes, director of the Winter Park Ski & Ride School, offers his expertise in three full days of intense bump fun with his hand-picked pros dedicated to helping guests reach a higher level of mogul skiing. Camp includes orientation, six hours per day of bump coaching, indoor sessions with equipment and stance analysis, new equipment demos and personal video analysis. MARCH 23: Wells Fargo Golden Bunny Classic Fun Race and Candy Hunt - Winter Park Willie and the Easter Bunny deliver holiday fun with an on-mountain candy hunt in Discovery Park, as well as a base area egg hunt for tiny tots and non-skiing kids. . For more details, call (970) 726-1564.

MARCH 28: 6th Annual United States Ski Association Train for Gold Fundraiser - Skiers and snowboarders are invited to ride the “Train for Gold” and spend a day at Winter Park Resort. MARCH 29 - 30: Winter Park Resort's Spring Blast - This includes: drink specials and live music at The Derailer, shopping the blowout sales, getting free bump tips from the Winter Park Ski & Ride school; and watching the area's best freeride competitors in rail jam competitions and demos. APRIL 13: Coca-Cola Classic Spring Splash at Winter Park/ Official Closing Day - In its 40th year, Winter Park Resort's Spring Splash is one of the resort's oldest traditions. The athletics begin at 11 a.m. as spectators watch skiers and snowboarders struggle through numerous obstacles on the race course on Larry Sale trail. Live music enhances the festive atmosphere.
