New First Class Benefits at Copper Mountain & Winter ParkJanuary 15, 2008 - 7:50 PM
At Copper Mountain Resort: * 1000 guests have already experienced FREE TIPS ON THE FLY this season: Copper’s free Pro Tips connect guests with instructors mountain-wide whenever they want during the day. Guests can meet an instructor at a lift and ski or ride with them for one run while gaining valuable pointers. There is no sign-up or cost involved and these take place all day in marked areas near designated ski lifts. * 2000 guests have experienced COPPER’S PIT CREW: Guests have been pleasantly surprised by Copper Mountain’s pit crew team that clears roadside residue from car windshields for free in time for the drive home. Sporting uniforms inspired by actual pit crews, guests cruise their cars into three lanes to have snow, salt and any debris cleared for the ride home. * Relaxed Starts – To accommodate an extra cup of coffee or slow risers, this program gives guests (parents particularly) flexibility to begin ski and ride lessons at two times, 10:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. Classes end at 3:30 p.m. * Copper’s Guests Can Buy Their OWN LIFT LINE FOR $20: Early risers can start their day 15 minutes earlier than regular ticket holders and have their own lift line using a Beeline Advantage Pass. The pass is included in Copper’s Lodging and Lift Ticket packages or is available at the ticket window for $20 with a daily ticket purchase. * Kid’s Night Out/PIZZA BAR FOR YOUNG CHEFS: On Tuesday Nights, Pizza Carlo lets kids make their own pizza at the pizza bar, while parents enjoy the nightlife. Copper’s chefs provide the dough and the “junior chefs” add the toppings. At Winter Park: * FIRST TRACKS PRIVATE LESSONS BEFORE OPENING: Starting at 8 a.m. guests can experience fresh powder tracks, with early lessons, available for 1-3 people, $125 (total). One weekdays prior to opening at 9 a.m., guests get on slope a full hour before most anyone else and on weekends, it means 30 minutes prior to the skiing/riding public. * Beacon Basin and Tips from Ski Patrol on HOW TO USE GPS TRACKING DEVICE: Guests can consult with the ski patrol between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. on the latest tips for using a GPS tracking device. * Ski Parallel – “Super Parallel,” a new progressive teaching program launched at Winter Park Resort where students learn contemporary ski techniques that improve performance on today’s high tech skis. Bob Barnes, Winter Park Resort’s Ski & Ride School director and an internationally known authority on ski and ride methods, developed the program that provides insights on how guests can use their weight and their own physiques in harmony with today’s advanced equipment that features new shapes and components. Super Parallel is an all-day class held on Fridays and is $119, which includes special Salomon 120 cm rental skis designed for carving.
