MARCH 2 - 3: Colorado Special Olympics Winter Games - Copper Mountain will host the Winter Games where than 550 athletes participate in alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, figure skating, snowshoeing and snowboarding. Copper is the official winter training site for all Colorado-based Special Olympics athletes and is the official host resort for the Winter Games through 2010. 866-841-2481.

APRIL 5 - 6: Sunsation - Copper sizzles during Sunsation, Copper's end-of-the-season bash with free live music featuring national acts. Past Sunsation performances have included Blue Oyster Cult, Dark Star Orchestra, De La Soul, Quiet Riot, Rusted Root and many more. www.coppersunsation.com

MARCH 30 - APRIL 4: USASA Nationals - The largest snowboarding and freeskiing event in the world, top regional finishers compete against the best male and female athletes in slopestyle, halfpipe, boardercross, slalom and giant slalom competitions. 866-841-2481.

MARCH 29 - 30: Women’s Burton Camp - This exclusive, women's-only camp enables women to gain experience in a supportive group environment. MARCH 29: Dummy Downhill Race - The only competition of its kind in the state, this hilarious event features “dummies” of every shape and size careening down lower Parkway before launching themselves off of a huge jump and come to a crashing stop. APRIL: Colorado Mountain School Avalanche Awareness Class (Level 1) - Learn how to: travel safely in and around avalanche terrain; gain insight into decision-making strategies; develop crucial planning, travel techniques and comprehensive rescue skills; and learn about the human factors involved in avalanches.
