Snowmass Village, CO - The Aspen/Snowmass summer season kicks off in 2008 with the 5th annual Snowmass Chili Pepper & Brew Fest June 6-8, 2008. Sponsored by the Boulder Hot Sauce Company, this hot & spicy weekend extravaganza draws over 7,000 people to Snowmass and promises to melt any remaining snow off the peaks with its jalapeno hot music including Dr. John, the Neville Brothers, Stephen Marley, Lyrics Born, The Wildbirds, and more. Tickets, ranging in price from $15 to a weekend pass of only $50, are now available for purchase online. After May 15 tickets will be available at participating City Markets between Rifle and Vail and at local outlets in the Roaring Fork Valley.

“From reggae to rock & roll to blues and funk, this music line-up is the perfect way to celebrate the event’s fifth year,” says Town of Snowmass Village Marketing Director Susan Hamley. “Add in the chili and microbrew components and it’s easy to see why the festival has become such a popular way to kick off the summer in Aspen/Snowmass.”

This unique festival combines three spicy elements into one fiery weekend of music, microbrews, and chili tastings. International Chili Society cooks vie to enter the world championships while offering samplings to the public, and over 80 microbrews are available to tasters as well. Sunday is a free local’s chili and homebrew competition, and children twelve and under are absolutely free all weekend long.
